أقسم جيمس كارانجا نورو، اليمين كحاكم جديد لمقاطعة كيميابو، بعد قرار مجلس الشيوخ عزل الحاكم السابق فرديناند وايتيتو من منصبه، حيث تورط وايتيتو في اختلاس المال العام من خزينة الولاية، ورغم التوسلات التي قدمها أمام مجلس الشيوخ إلا أنه فشل في تبرئة نفسه من التهم التي وجهت إليه.
وأثناء قسمه لتولي منصب الحاكم أمس الجمعة أكد جيمس لمواطني المقاطعة أنه سيشكل المجلس الاستشاري للمقاطعة الذي يناقش برامج التنمية، ووضع خارطة الطريق التي ستساعد على تنفيذ تلك المشاريع، كما أكد جيمس للحضور أنه لن يسمح لأي شخص بالإساءة إلى الرئيس أوهورو.
